I played the Wilds 8.7.08. I was paired with another single and we were the first ones out in the morning. We played in 3.5. hours. The course was wet in a few spots but overall in very good condition. It is a very pretty and challenging course.
Most of the fairways are wide, but there are a number of holes where you must hit it straight off the tee or you will lose at leats a shot. There is a lot of elevation changes with at least 4 holes with tee shots to uphill fairways. There is a good mix of long and short holes.
On #16 the guy I was playing with hit a drive of almost 300 yards and just missed driving the green. The only negatives for me were the cell tower behind the 13th gren that ruins the view and the housing, but that is applicable to any course in a golf course community. You can see the Minneapolis skyline (about 30 miles away) from the 9th and 18th holes.
This is an excellent course in an area (the Southwestern Minneapolis suburbs) with lots of good golf courses. Just a few minutes away are Willingers, Legends, Meadows and Chaska Town course. This is as good as any of those, but Chaska is the best bargain at less than half the price of the Wilds.
